Coaches Bios:

Rich Salvini: Coach Rich Salvini a NSCAA National License, and is Director of Coaching for the Pittsburgh Football Club.  Coach Salvini was the PA West Premier Classic Coach of the Year in 1998-1999.  His Classic Girls' team has won the PA West Snicker's Cup, and has been runner-up and semi-finalist twice.  The majority of his team received college scholarships, 14 were named to the first team All Section WPIAL team, and 1 player was selected to the All Pennsylvania team.  Over the past 7 years, Rich has placed over 100 players, boys and girls, at the college level with scholarships.

The Pittsburgh Football Club U16 Junior Hounds advanced to the finals of the US Club Regional in Columbus, OH with a 3-0 victory against the Admirals of Erie and 1-0 victory over Arsenal FC Gunners. These wins put the Junior Hounds at the top of their bracket which have teams from Indianapolis, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. This is the first time a PFC team has made it to Regional Final play and with victory Tuesday June 22, 2010 at 11:00am; this would qualify the Jr. Hounds for a trip to Virginia Beach with an opportunity for National Glory. Parents and Players from Pittsburgh Football Club wish the Junior Hounds good luck in the Finals!

US Youth Soccer Region I Presidents Cup

1.    Team began playing competitively as a U12 team in 2005 in the PA West Classic Division. 

2.    Finished as runner-up at the PA West Sportsman’s Tournament (California University of Pennsylvania) in July 2005.

3.    Won the Icebreaker Tournament (Virginia) in March 2006.

4.    Promoted to the Premier Division of PA West in August 2006.

5.    Won the Columbus Day Challenge (Ohio) in October 2006.

6.    Finished as runner-up at the Mid-American Soccer Classic (Ohio) in April 2007.

7.    Finished as runner-up at the Columbus Day Challenge (Ohio) in October 2007.

8.    Finished as runner-up at the Mid-American Soccer Classic (Ohio) in April 2008.

9.    Finished as a semi-finalist in USYS (PA West) State Cup.

10. Finished 1-1-1 in the Blast Cup (Ohio) in April 2009.  We were a U15 team playing in the U16 A Bracket.

11.  Finished as a semi-finalist in US Club State Cup (West Penn Cup).

12.  Accepted into the CASL College Showcase (Raleigh, NC) in December 2009.  Advanced to the semi-finals after victories over teams from Kentucky and North Carolina.

13. Based on USA Ranking System, we are currently ranked 3rd in Pennsylvania, 58th in the Region, and 228th nationally.

14.  In May 2010, the team won their bracket in the Penn-Ohio Cup at Westminster College, and were the youngest team (U16) in the tournament.
