About the PFC Elite Development Academy

The Pittsburgh Football Club is excited to announce our new youth soccer program, the PFC Elite Development Academy! The new Elite Development Academy will be for the youth  player ages U6 through U12 and will have an age appropriate curriculum. The curriculum will focus on the development of the individual player, working on appropriate technical growth and will work with in our club vision “of creating players, committed to excellence on the field and in our communities.”

The Elite Development Academy players will train during the week and play games with their appropriate age groups on Saturdays through the PAWest Classic League.

In addition to our new program, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of a new director of the Elite Development Academy Allen Duda!! Coach Duda is a great asset to our coaching staff. He brings with him a philosophy that is consistent with the mission of the Pittsburgh Football Club.  He understands the developmental needs of players and is very patient in his approach to teaching the game.  We are very excited to have him on board!

Allen, has a vast array of experience in developing youth players in the Pittsburgh area at every level. He is currently the men’s and women’s assistant coach at Carlow University and is involved in local futsal training and skill development with Next Level.  Coach Duda is a nationally licensed coach who holds a B.S. in Physical education and Sports Management from Slippery Rock University.

Coach Duda believes that positive reinforcement helps to foster a player’s confidence and encourage their play.  He wants to create better decision makers and establish a sense of personal responsibility with the players.  He wants to the players to respect themselves, the team, the coaches, the opponents, and the game itself.  This will establish an appreciation and passion for the game of soccer.  Allen believes that every player has a strength. “Give all players a chance, be patient, nurture each player, they will all flourish at different times so be persistent.  Some rise quickly, some rise slowly but all will rise at some time.

Who: Players born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009  2010, 2011 and 2012

The PFC Elite Development Academy will focus on player development: consisting of technical skill development, (passing, dribbling, shooting) small-sided games and scrimmages to help the young player gain soccer skills and knowledge of the game.
